Since February, Belgian Stefaan Engels, 49 has ran 236 full marathons, completing one run every single day.
Inspired to become and endurance athlete after he was told by doctors that he would not be able to carry out tough physical activity due to asthma and harsh fat jibes from his wife, Engels set up as a fitness instructor. He intents to run 365 marathons by the end of the year, beating the current world record of 52 marathons a day almost 7 times over.
Engels can currently be seen completing his daily 26 mile jogs in Battersea park London, before moving onto a tour of Spain and the rest of Europe.
His self imposed challenge echoes that of Forest Gump played by Oscar winning actor Tom Hanks in the film of the same name.
