Returning products through RMA

Products Purchased from one of our Dealers

Goods purchased from one of our dealers should be returned to the place of purchase - Please ensure you keep all receipts along with any additional proof of purchase. Your dealer will contact us on your behalf.

Products Purchased Overseas

In the event you purchased your product from a non-UK dealer we will still try to help you with your return. Contact us at the address below and we will do our best to help you find a solution.

Products Purchased from Wellard & Scott

Goods for return or exchange must be sent back to us within 14 days of receipt. DVDs and CD ROMs may only be returned for replacements of the original order.

All returns should be back to us at the address below, via a secure Post Office service. (Royal Mail Special Delivery service is highly recommended). This service includes an insurance option - please check with your post office for more details.

Please include the invoice (contained within the parcel you received) with the goods, a covering letter and your name and contact number, so that we know who they are from. Failure to do so may cause delays.

Upon receipt of the goods we will, send replacement goods or issue a full refund for the price of the goods returned. Our only stipulation is that they are in a saleable condition, in other words;

  • The tags have not been removed
  • The garment or tackle item has not been used, worn or damaged
  • The item is returned in its original packaging undamaged

We will issue the refund (or send out an exchange) within 28days, and you will see the credit on your card after approximately 3 or 4 working days. Please note some building societies can take up to 10 days. We can only credit the credit card used for the original purchase. Please allow 1-2 billing cycles for the refund credit to appear on your statement.

Where Faulty or Damaged goods are received please contact the sales office on Tel: 01566 780393 within 7 days of receipt.

Guidance & Notes:

  • No delivery charge on exchanges if you send the item back to us through the post. However we do offer a “Collection” service for items you wish to exchange for instance if the item is not what you expected or the garment does not fit. There is a £7.50 charge for this postage option whereby the replacement goods arrive on the same day as the returned items are uplifted.
  • Please ensure that you wrap the package securely
  • Refund does not include your cost of the original postage and packaging or return post if the goods are not damaged or faulty.
  • Please note that for your own security we advise that you send goods back using a service that can be tracked.
  • We cannot be held responsible for packages lost or damaged in the post when being returned to us by your own carrier.
  • Royal Mail special delivery insures the goods up to £500.
  • This cover can be increased to £1,000 by paying a small premium.
  • Royal Mail recorded delivery only insures the goods up to £28.
  • Except where the goods you return are faulty or damaged, the cost of returning the goods to us is your responsibility.
  • This does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer.
  • Advice given by staff members regarding Sizes and fitting of items is their personal opinion. We will measure and advise to the best of our knowledge but the final decision is yours.

Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive

Scott Fly Rods - Lifetime Warranty Returns

All repairs will be charged a £30.00 return shipping and handling charge. Please include a cheque or credit card number with your repair to cover return shipping. We'll complete and return most repairs within 4 weeks of receipt. It takes a little longer to repair a handcrafted Scott fly rod. Scott match the new blank section to your old section and hand fit the ferrules to insure that your repaired rod performs as well as the original. Rods that have been discontinued for over four years may take longer than current stock models. No slapping a pre-made section on your old rod here, each repair is handcrafted just like a new Scott rod. Patience has its virtues.
